Our department offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cinematic Arts. The B.A. degree in Cinematic Arts is the combination of the former B.A. options in Narrative Production and Theory & Practice. Along with this change, our new curriculum will begin Fall 2024 and will no longer require a portfolio submission. |

Admissions Requirements: Minimum GPA for all majors: 3.0, or a "B" grade according to the CSULB GPA scale.
All first-year student applicants must: - File a CSULB application through Cal State Apply by the deadline
- Have earned a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA or "B'" grade according to the CSULB GPA scale.
- Fulfill CSULB's English Language Requirement
- Have completed at least 1 year of high school mathematics. Applicants to STEM majors must have at least 3 years of high school mathematics.

| Additional Admission Requirements: | First-year students interested in Cinematic Arts (CINE) are admitted as "Pre-Cinematic Arts."
During their first few semesters at CSULB, students should complete lower-division general education requirements as well as the lower-division CINE courses. Continuation in the major is subject to meeting specific lower-division course and GPA requirements at CSULB that indicate the student's ability to succeed and complete the major. |
